ViaSat Sport will transmit selected live sport events in UHD to viewers throughout the Nordic region.

The new channel commenced with the Rio Olympics, MTG being the official Rio Olympics 2016 broadcaster for

Sweden. ViaSat Sport will also transmit specially produced UHD sports content such as soccer via the SES-5 satellite

for ViaSat customers throughout Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

At the same time, Danmon built an additional HD Sports channel which is branded as ViaSat Sport Premium.

Both projects were coordinated through the local Danmon Sweden office and implemented by Danmon Systems.

They included three new rooms: UHD editing and control, voiceover and HD Sports control. There was also an

extensive upgrade of ViaSat's existing DHD audio mixer and Imagine Platinum video router, as well as a rebuild of the Pebble Beach Neptune automation system.

Building and testing were completed by Danmon in just over a month, on time and on budget. The new system

went on air at the start of August 2016.

ViaSat is part of the Modern Times Group (MTG), a Swedish digital entertainment company. MTG was formed

out of the media holdings of investment company Kinnevik, which in 1997 was distributed to the company stockholders.
