NTP Technology Announces New Features and Options for Penta 720 Audio Router and Modular Interface Converter

NTP Technology, a leader in the development and production of audio routing and signal processing systems, will introduce an expanded version of its Penta 720 audio router and modular interface converter at IBC2015. New features include expanded routing capability (increased from 1,024 x 1,024 to 1,500  x 1,500) plus signal detection, signal level monitoring, peak programme meters and signal level control on all inputs and outputs.

Two new plug-in cards for the Penta 720 will be introduced at the show. These comprise an eight-channel line level AES3 (AES/EBU) input/output interface (with optional sampling rate conversion) plus a dual MADI input/output. Support for a full 64 channel analogue input/output configuration will be demonstrated.

NTP Technology has also expanded the range of control options available for the Penta 720 which can now be operated via Pro-Bel SW-P and Avid (R) EUCON protocols.

Designed for use in television or radio studios, outside broadcast vehicles and public-event venues, the Penta 720 incorporates a wide range of inputs and outputs to match the various signal distribution protocols currently in use. Standard features include eight AES3 input/output channels, MADI, redundant Dante IP Audio Ethernet in/outs and an interface for Avid Pro Tools (TM). Up to eight optional cards can be incorporated to match specific operational requirements. All cards are hot-swappable. A mini-module slot is available to accommodate a dual SFP MADI optical input/output module. This module is also compliant with the NTP HotLink/Dual MADI format. A dual redundant power supply is available.

Existing plug-in cards for the Penta 720 include an eight-input line-level analogue to digital converter with optional microphone preamplifier; eight output digital to analog converter; and a 3 gigabit/s SDI embedder/de-embedder.
