HILTRON PARTNERS WITH ATG MIDDLE EAST TO PROVIDE SATELLITE DOWNLINK SYSTEM AT BROADCAST COMPLIANCE CENTRE

Working in partnership with ATG Middle East, Hiltron has completed a satellite downlink system feeding a multi-channel compliance suite for a broadcast regulatory organisation based in the Middle East. The installed infrastructure includes three wall-mounted 1.8 metre dish antennas plus L band signal distribution and modular decoder/receivers. Incoming data from the satellite antennas is converted into discrete programme channels which are then routed to Linux-based IT-style servers.

Servers, archiving control software and ancillary digital video infrastructure were integrated, configured and commissioned by ATG Broadcast Middle East.

"The newly installed system can capture up to 50 simultaneous channels every hour of the day, every day of the year," comments ATG Middle East Managing Director Dr. Fares Lubbadeh. "Recording, cataloguing and purging are performed fully automatically."

Hiltron Project Manager Detlef Leitzbach, together with ATG Middle East systems support engineer Raed Gotta, supervised training for operators at the regulator's headquarters prior to the system going live.

"This is the latest in a number of Middle East projects we have completed successfully either directly for Hiltron customers or in partnership with other systems integrators," adds Hiltron Managing Director, Jan Molter.
